Join us on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th October 2022 at the Palais des Sports in Grenoble to celebrate the designation of the European Green Capital 2024 : vertical dance show, interactive exhibition, food trucks...
The European Commission's European Green Capital Award recognises and rewards local efforts to improve the environment, and therefore the economy and quality of life in cities. The award is given annually to a city that leads the way in an environmentally-friendly urban living. It encourages cities to commit to ambitious targets for environmental improvement.
As the winner of the European Green Capital 2022, Grenoble is hosting the Designation Ceremony for the future European Green Capital 2024 (cities with 100,000 inhabitants or more) and the future Green Leaf 2024 (cities with 20,000 to 100,000 inhabitants). This is a time to bring together European, national and local networks, to honour the finalists - Bistrița in Romania, Elsinore in Denmark and Velenje in Slovenia for the Green Leaf ; Cagliari in Italy and Valencia and Spain for the Green Capital - and to continue to forge links within this network which is growing every year. These links are created through exchange of experiences and knoweldge-sharing on the actions deployed in the territory in terms of environmental transition.
Grenoble offers to celebrate this event over two days with a festive programme, on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th October 2022, at the Palais des Sports in Grenoble.
