I act

Each year, Grenoble-Alpes Metropole offers a challenge to schools in the area to raise awareness of global warming and sustainable development. This year, the CM1 and CM2 from Simone Lagrange school (Grenoble) took up the positive energy challenge!
Grenoble-Alpes Metropole is proposing a challenge to become citizens involved in the fight against global warming and air pollution! Built in partnership with the DSDEN38 (Direction des Services Départementaux de l'Education Nationale de l'Isère) and in line with the Cycle 3 school programmes, the Positive Energy Schools Challenge is an awareness-raising scheme based on an educational approach.
Pupils act "for real", accompanied by teachers, the ALEC (Local Energy and Climate Agency) and the commune:
• carrying out experiments in class on the impact of our actions thanks to the equipment on loan (wattmeter, CO2 sensor, light meter, power strips, thermometer),
• setting up an action plan to reduce the school's energy consumption through eco-gestures, with the help of the commune, by raising awareness among school users,
• monitoring the school's energy consumption (electricity and heating) with meter readings and comparison with previous years.
The pupils participated in a short film to tell and share their experience:
