Grenoble has been chosen by the European Commission to be European Green Capital 2022. This title has been awarded every year since 2010 to cities committed to transition and pioneers in the field of environmentally friendly urban living.

The official launch of this year's event, organised by the City of Grenoble and Grenoble-Alpes Métropole, in partnership with the Département de l'Isère, and with the support of the French government and the European Commission, will take place on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 January.

The current health context does not allow us to maintain all the events initially planned in the programme. Find the highlights of these two days below!

CONFERENCE : GLOBAL WARMING IN MOUNTAIN AREAS

Friday 14 January 2022 from 6.30 pm to 8 pm


State of play & controversies of the scientific council: climate

Based on the latest scientific results and IPCC reports, the conference will provide an understanding of climate change in mountain areas and the physical and socio-economic impacts observed and expected, particularly on water resources. The speakers will discuss the room for manoeuvre in terms of adaptation, mitigation, reversibility, etc.

ESCAPE GAME AROUND THE 12 THEMES OF THE YEAR

Saturday 15 January 2022 from 10am to 4pm

An Escape Game in the whole city with 2-hour courses to discover the treasures of Grenoble. Last departure at 2pm.

OFFICIAL SPEECHES AND PRESENTATION OF THE "GREENBOOK"

Saturday 15 January 2022 at 5pm

The ceremony to present the "Greenbook" of Lahti, European Green Capital 2021, to Grenoble, European Green Capital 2022, will take place in a restricted committee, respecting the Republican protocol. This ceremony will be broadcast live by videoconference.
